Until recent years, Restaurants in Kiev tended to cater primarily to specific local tastes, with Ukrainian Cuisine along with Russian- and Caucasian-inspired dishes omnipresent on practically every restaurant menu. But times are changing, and in the past few years a broad range of international cuisine has become popular in Kyiv.

Kiev's best Ukrainian-style restaurants include Kozats'ka Vtikha, Shynok, and Kureni, which boasts a wonderful location close to the Dnipro.
By the time Euro 2012 gets under way in Kiev we expect plenty more new restaurants will have opened offering cuisine from all the regions of the world. If you are visiting Kyiv now though you can expect to find food that reflects the national identity or cuisine of a number of countries with restaurant types including Belgian, American, Indian, Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese and Mexican. Indeed, if you want evidence that Kiev has become a truly cosmopolitan global city in recent years, then pay a visit to one of its Korean, Moroccan, Irish, Uzbek or Turkish restaurants!!
Famous names in Kiev include T.G.I. Friday's and Il Patio – a popular Italian restaurant brand in much of eastern Europe.
